Wall panels in wet areas: a practical guide

SPC wall panels replace tile in bathrooms and wet rooms — with no grout to discolour.

Why panels instead of tile

There is no grout, so nothing to discolour or re-seal. A wall goes up in an afternoon rather than over several days.

Preparing the wall

The substrate must be dry, flat and sound. Adhesive-based installation is unforgiving of a bowed wall, and any deviation shows in the reflection.

Sealing the edges

Internal corners and the junction with the tray or bath need a sanitary-grade silicone. This is the joint that fails first if it is rushed.
