    Steps to Installation

STEP 1: Preparation of the Area

The first step is to prepare the installation area thoroughly. Ensure the subfloor is clean, dry, and level. Remove any debris, old flooring, or imperfections that could affect the installation. Inspect the subfloor for evenness; any irregularities might need to be smoothed out. Accurately measure the room to determine the required amount of LVT flooring, factoring in cuts and waste to avoid shortages.

STEP 2: Acclimation of the Flooring

Acclimate the LVT flooring to the room’s conditions for at least 48 hours before installation. Stack the flooring boxes in the room, allowing air circulation around each box. This process helps the material adjust to the room’s temperature and humidity, reducing the risk of expansion or contraction post-installation.

    STEP 3: Preparation for Installation

Verify if an underlayment is required or recommended by the manufacturer. If needed, install the underlayment following specific instructions, ensuring it’s flat, smooth, and without overlaps. Underlayment can provide additional cushioning, sound insulation, and moisture protection.

    STEP 4: Commence Installation

Start laying the LVT flooring from a corner of the room. Create a solid foundation by laying the first tile or plank and using spacers against the walls to maintain an expansion gap, typically 1/4 inch. Ensure the interlocking edges or adhesive backing of the tiles fit tightly and securely together. A straight and level first row is crucial for the entire installation.

    STEP 5: Continuation of Installation

Progress with laying subsequent rows, interlocking the tiles or planks while maintaining a staggered pattern to enhance stability and aesthetics. Use a tapping block and a rubber mallet to gently tap each piece into place, ensuring a snug fit without causing damage. Regularly check for straightness and alignment as you proceed to ensure a professional finish.

STEP 6: Final Touches and Inspection

Once the LVT flooring is installed, remove spacers and install baseboards or molding to cover the expansion gap. Utilize transition strips in doorways or where the LVT flooring meets different surfaces for a seamless finish. Inspect the entire installation for any gaps, misalignments, or loose pieces, making necessary adjustments for a flawless outcome.
